Topshop's AW12 preview

I literally jumped off my seat - excessive I know - when I saw Topshop's AW12 preview! I know, I know you're thinking it's still summer (hard to tell with the weather) but it's important to plan ahead! That's why I would like to inform you of this delightful news!

Just leave summer for a moment ladies...

My favourite feature I think from this whole preview would be Master Mod but that been said I do love a good lace collar! We all know that the monochrome trend is nothing new but it's the clothes that catch my eye. It's such a taoilered look and perfect for the awful weather ahead (you think I was a meteorologist)! I love love love the fine cuts - it makes me want to go to lots of formal events (sadly there's none on the radar for me, yet) but it's nice to dream!

Now to be honest I'm no fan of leggings, at all, I would get all of them and burn them because I think it's absolutely ridiculous that some people go out with leggings and nothing covering their bottoms and it's even worse when they are see-through...but these pair set AW12 upside down, inside out, all around perfectly -

They are lace and they are black - hot.

I think if you worked these with an all-out black outfit it would be soo soo sophisticated! I can even imagine it now with a long taoilered black collared coat. Not a trench coat though, too casual, something more elegant, perhaps a boyfriend coat.

Newspaper nail art

Not only have I started to get 'funky' with my hair, I'm now turning to nail art- the joys of a free summer!

Today I decided to do a newspaper print on my nails...using vodka, obviously! Okay you're probably thinking WTH but it actually works!! I read it on Musing of a Make-Up Maniac's blog and I really wanted to experiment in the early hours of the morning (11am to be precise) and what better way than dipping your fingers, one by one, into vodka and placing a newspaper cutting on your nail for 30 secs! Mum, however, thought I was drinking vodka for breakfast? Where's the trust mother?!

What's up Ed?

Look's like Gossip Girl hottie Ed Westwick (aka Chuck Bass) has swapped the Manhatten sidewalks for Milan catwalks! Yep Mr Westwick was seen strutting his stuff down the Philip Plein show. Who that is? I don't know but at least Mr Westwick looked hot even if the clothing was.....ekk.....lets just say it's not Chuck Bass's usual style.

Hard Ass Irritating Routine = Hair

I'm getting creative lately with my hairstyles but I have to say, the first time I did it = NIGHTMARE! I was really getting inpatient with it (and I'm a pretty patient person) because it totally wasn't like what it was 'suppose' to look like. I hate the way the people on youtube make it look easy - they forget to mention how many times it actually took them to master the look themselves, because it definitely doesn't happen over night! Na eh!

My hair is sooo annoying though, wrong length, wrong colour (not that that matters) and awkward layers. When I curl my hair it just doesn't look nice, it looks like a big mess (dull) and it's really an FML moment!

But I have started to practise and I'm actually getting the hang of some of them (woohoo)! This is what I managed to twist together the other day -

It seems everyone is jetting off lately (23 days till I'm gone) and I really could do with a pick-me up! And what better way then a romantic movie eh? Breakfast at Tiff's anyone? 

If your feeling down just look at how crazy and disastrous Holly's (or whatever she feels like calling herself today) life is....she has a unnamed cat, no furniture, a man that's in love with her but she needs a rich man instead, she's too young for diamonds yet she wants something at Tiffany's. Her world really is a big mess hence why she smokes fags every hour - daylight, noon and night. You really feel sorry for the girl but then she has the perfect happily ever after - where man loves woman but woman is confused, then just as man walks out the door woman realises she's in love with man! It's like we are watching our daily lives right in front of our eyes (pfft we wish)! But it's the concept of the movie that cheers you up - living a wild life when your lost only to find your hero waiting for you. It's what we all want, I suppose...

So the main point out of all this (ridiculous) read is, if your feeling down, which happens, turned on a rom/com, get dressed up in your best clothing, drink Chardonnay and enjoy the night - cos you'll have a sore head the next morning!

Flying solo

Destination? Glasgow

Ok I've checked my bags a million times but I still feel like I'm missing something?! I can just imagine that tomorrow morning i'll be standing in dublin airport, about to get on the plane, and probably remember what it was - "ahh I forgot my nail file" - or something silly along those lines!

This trip was actually last min cos I only found out about the Open Day last week so I was panting when I found out! I'm being really organised - hence the folder with every ticket/map/planner in logical order - I'm going solo,for the first time, okay so I'm slightly over doing it!

Friday then I'm going for my seasonal shopping spree with Zoe so I had to prepare for staying over in Dublin for two nights too - why does everything always come at once?

I'll be sure to take lots of pics and share them with you as soon as I can!

Summer Style

What better way to cheer up a dull, miserable, rainy day then look at summer clothes? Yes you might be wrapped up now in your dad's sweater and eating like it's Christmas but holidays are around the corner!! Wooooohoooooo


So first on the list? Duh duh duuh the swimsuit:

Both these bikini's are perfect for the beach - they will brighten up any dull stony beach in Wexford or the hot, luxurious beaches of Miami.

But you can't go to the beach without a pair of sunnies!

I particulary like the pastel colour ones this summer. Take for example these yellow ones from Miss Selfridge or these pastel cat eyed sunglasses from Topshop!

Ready to hit the beach? Not so faaaast! You are forgetting your essential - the FLOPPY hat!!!!!!!

Yes I know it isn't for everybody but it has the added benefits of protecting you from the sun, keeping you cool, la d da d da - not that your interested in that. But if you see hats like these ones from Miss Selfridge all over the beach don't say I didn't warn you!

Now getting movin' time to prepare and stretch before the beach, capish?!

IT Girl

I read an article today to find out that Selena Gomez is ELLE's new IT girl. But to be perfectly honest I was kind of shocked. I don't follow or hear of the girl much- perhaps because I'm not one of her fans- so I was quiet surprised to learn that she's the one every woman across the state is dying to be.

She covers the ELLE U.S. magazine for July, looking quiet fierce yet her face is soft. She's obviously experimenting. But I really have to question if Selena is actually ELLE topical - she's not the usual choice to cover ELLE, so why? Why did they choose Selena?

Guess we will just have to wait for the issue to find out!

Pore Strips

I decided to do a post on these natural pore strips that remove blackheads. I bought them today, on recommendation from a friend, so I'm excited to try them tonight! Everything that I used that promised to remove those UNWANTED blackheads has fail (ahem clean'n'clear)! So I'm praying these might actually,somewhat, work. Ever tried them? Were they a hit or miss?!

Florals

Guess what ladies? Looks like florals are set to stay, for next year anyway. Bonus!

Just seen the Marc Jacobs '13 Resort Collection and it's floral floral floral! Woohoo for those of us who like the print that is (me being one)!

Luckily the high street is packed- Topshop - so I'd advise stocking up now while you can!

Trying something new

Yesterday I decided to actually DO something with my hair. I usually leave it hanging straight with a bit of a flick or if I have the absolute energy I sometimes curl it (that being rare). But yesterday the weather was rainy and I was like what will I do with my hair?!

Now since I'm a beginner (and I don't plan on doing a hair blog, oh god) this is what I mastered yesterday - so hard as you can tell:

Today Zoe and I headed to the Strawberry Fest to see Amelia Lily and Marcus Collins! Great performance even if they only performed 4 sings each but the crowd wasn't really in the mood sadly because of the weather. Weather = Evil. Yes they can sing but did my toes really need to freeze? But then we did have an adventure around the small (ridiculous) town called Enniscorthy to find our old 'coffee' shop but in hilly Enniscorthy they are cutlery shops selling all kinds while your trying to have a cup of coffee. In saying that, they coffee gets a thumbs up! 

But I think the highlight would by Marcus Collin's dancers.....he performed with two males to be exact. Where are they females do you ask? Each of the Mammys were ready to jump him so I think it was only fair to call in two, ehhh well take a look for yourself:

University of Glasgow

Like I said/promise yesterday I started my to-do list (that famous one). The first thing on it was to book flights to Glasgow which I can safely tick off now...

So guess what?! A week on Thursday I'm heading to Glasgow! You should of seen my parents when I told them last night at such short notice, but open days don't come along that often (so my career guidance teacher says).

But I feel so unprepared! I feel I need to go learn off the college prospectus or something and it only (perhaps) hit me last night that I'm going to be studying abroad, happy or sad? Hmmm....I'm going to be like a chicken lost in the city. But if your not going to take a chance now when are you?

I am definitely the worse blogger ever!! I'm surprise I have any followers, even if it is just a few, considering I have barely blogged since I started! But thankfully exams finished today and it's time for the summer holidays to begin (87 days to be exact), that meaning lots of posts for you!

The first time that I must do today is create a to-do list. I need to plan my summer and not waste any time considering next year I'll be living the life with the LC on my back everyday (crying). But let's not talk about that now.

Today's Agenda? Productiveness.

1. When to move from the couch?
2. What movie to watch?

etc.

If only that was productive.....but today is a resting day and lets the adventures begin, tomorrow and that to-do list...
